Love Thursday

I tried to talk myself out of it. To say that the hours and the stress weren’t worth it. But the fact is, I deeply, deeply miss being a litigator. I deeply desire the charge of being in court, of problem-solving with colleagues, of being intellectually challenged by my work, and in [...]

Gypsy cabs

“Taxi? Taxi?” asked the Nigerian man in the late-model white Camry, his dashboard and mirror bedecked with flags, kente, figurines. I’m carrying my BBQ research results (i.e., takeout) back to my car, and am dressed, I then realized, like the most out-of-place yuppie asshole ever. Yay, again!

First I get paid to write about coffee shops.  Then, I get paid to go grocery shopping and find new sources for my Middle Eastern herbs and spices.  And I have two more round-ups on the coffee shops to do– hey, Boston’s a big town!
Remind me again why the hell I went to law school?

The written word

My written word, that is.  And yes, I do plan on grabbing dozens of copies from several delivery boxes around town for the sake of posterity, and clippings.  (OK, well, clipping, but they asked me to write another piece…)  Also– that’s a nom de plume, btw.  My real name is Bruce Wayne.  (Um, wait, never mind.)
